Summary

A field boundary of post medieval date is visible as a soilmark on aerial photographs. Part of it is depicted on historic Ordnance Survey maps. It forms part of a larger group of multi-period cropmarks, NHER 45089.

Linear soilmark on Ordnance Survey aerial photgraphs seen by A. K. Gregory (NAU) in 1978.

NMP mapping has led to the alteration of the central grid reference of the site from TG 4241 1670 to TG 4232 1670.

The linear soilmark described above is visible on aerial photographs (S1)-(S2), between TG 4204 1676 and TG 4258 1664. Most of the feature corresponds with a field boundary depicted on historic Ordnance Survey maps, such as the 1st edition 6 inch map (S3), and consequently has not been mapped by the NMP. The westernmost segment has been mapped as it is not shown on the consulted Ordnance Survey maps, but it almost certainly corresponds with a field boundary depicted on the parish Tithe Map (S4). The feature is part of a more extensive group of multi-period field boundaries and cropmarks, NHER 45089.
