Summary

In 1829 an Early Saxon cremation cemetery was discovered at an unrecorded site by the old Thetford to Norwich road. This must be the north-south road through the village of Snetterton. Finds recovered included a pot decorated with swastikas and five urns.

1829.
5th-6th century cremation cemetery at unrecorded site by old Thetford to Norwich road (this must be the north-south road through the village - E. Rose (NAU)). One pot decorated with swastikas paralleled at Wehden, Hammoor.
British Museum acquired five urns in 1856 from Chuffers (1856.6-27.5-9). It should be noted that the provenance of these objects is recorded as Shropham.
