Map

Moat.
Visited E. Rose (NAU) 11 April 1979.

Square; north, west, and south sides in excellent condition, waterfilled east side almost vanished owing to encroachment of road. Island raised high except for southeast corner which is cut away in a serpentine fashion - to provide fill for east side? Northeast corner still wide though. Overgrown, ground very soft. Causeway on north.

1994.
One more medieval sherd. Details in file.
A. Rogerson (NLA) 16 May 1994.

Moated site is in unmanaged woodland, occasionally used for game shooting. Owner is not planning to carry out any clearance of trees or scrub, as he fears this could open the site up to misuse by mountain bike riders or motorcycle scramblers, situated as it is adjacent to the road.
H. Paterson (NLA) 30 November 1998.
