Summary

In 1887, flints were taken from a flint mining pit here to be knapped for use in repairs to Woodbastwick Church. A tramway was temporarily moved here in the late 19th century, but had gone by 1927. A possible Palaeolithic flint tool and other prehistoric flints were found here in 1911.
