Pre December 1956. Excavation.
1 Palaeolithic flint scraper recovered by J. E. Sainty during "...small excavation almost opposite Hall Gate in a field hedge on the opposite side of the road". This find was reported (presumably to R. R. Clarke) in a letter of 7 December 1956 (now lost?). Information from (S1). This find is also noted in (S2).
