Full Description
1960. Stray Find.
Found at Poringland Gravel Pits:
3 Bronze Age pottery sherds.
Donated to Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 1961.27).
Information from (S1). This discovery was reported in (S2).
Map says 6-9 Bronze Age urns revealed in clearing topsoil for pit 1960. These urns were supposed to have associated human bones, which might indicate the presence of a barrow or burial ground. Unfortunatley urns and remains were lost. Copy of cutting (S3) on back of (S1) in file.
