Summary

A stray find of a Neolithic stone axehead was found in 1959, while metal-detecting between 2013 and 2018 recovered Late Iron Age, Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; a post-medieval jetton and undated, Middle Bronze Age, Late Iron Age to Roman and medieval to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include an undated copper alloy ring; a Middle Bronze Age palstave and rapier fragment; a Late Iron Age/Roman linch pin; Roman brooches, vessel handle escutcheons, a copper alloy upholstery nail and furniture fitting; a medieval rotary key, casket key, buckle, harness pendant, copper guard from a dagger, spur buckle and pair of shears; a medieval/post-medieval candlestick fragment, thimble, and post-medieval buckles, a rotary key, coin weight, dish-support from chafing dish, button, crotal bell and harness mounts.
