Summary

Digging in the garden recovered a Bronze Age copper alloy palstave. A possible Roman silver finger ring was found by a metal detectorist.

Unlooped palstave, small hole in hafting slot.

Around 1980. Metal-detecting.
Found in garden with metal detector:
1 silver finger ring, could be late Roman but perhaps more recent Near Eastern. See drawing (S2).
Identified by A. Gregory (NAU).
Information from A. Rogerson (NAU).
Now believed to be most likely a relatively recent object, see below.

The silver ring found in the 1980s was believed lost [1] but has now been located.
