Summary

A group of four medieval fishponds, which are thought to have been associated with St Mary's Priory, Coxford (NHER 3632), or with a medieval manorial site.

Said by (S1) to be the fishponds of Coxford priory.

1991.
Situated north of minor road from Dunton to East Rudham, and some 300m west of the deserted village of Broomthorpe.
An impressive group of 4 fishponds, 3 running north to south, about 38m long and 10m wide.
All hold water with rushes to north.
Banks grass covered with bramble and mature trees.
Possible remains of leats seen.
In good condition, some dead wood in water.
