Full Description
The Ashmolean Museum (Oxford) holds the following unprovenanced Early Saxon objects from Downham Market:
2 urns (1927.80; 1927.85). Ex Sir John Evans Collection.
3 sherds (1927.86a-b). Presented by Sir Arthur Evans, from the collection of Sir John Evans.
Unpublished.
Information from (S1) and museum records. According to (S1) these finds were formerly part of the J. Warren Collection.
These vessels are possibly the Anglo Saxon "cremations" from Downham Market listed in a gazetteer in (S2) and subsequently noted on (S3).
