Summary

One complete Iron Age torc and a large number of Iron Age torc fragments have been found at this site. The complete torc was found during ploughing in 1941, with part of a second recovered in 1944. Metal detecting between 1987 and 1990 recovered over 140 fragments of twisted gold or silver alloy wire, most of which would have been part of torcs. One fragment may have been part of a bracelet. Iron Age, Middle Saxon and Late Saxon pottery sherds have also been found on the site, along with Roman, Middle Saxon, Late Saxon and medieval metalwork.
