Summary

A Roman coin hoard of between 9000 and 17,000 copper alloy and silver Roman coins dating between AD 238 and 271was found on this site. The hoard was contained within a large Roman pot that broke when the hoard was discovered by ploughing. There have been several metal-detected finds from around the same area.
