Summary

A Bronze Age copper alloy socketed axehead with fragments of the wood handle still in the socket was found in a ploughed field. The wooden handle was identified as young oak.

Bronze socketed axe with fragment of wood in socket found on recently ploughed (?first time) field near dyke (stream). Covered in clay which sealed in the wood. Wood identified as young oak by P.W. Lambley.
